Rescue Plan - When a Falls Arrest Line is in place

Andersons Scaffolding uses Fall Restraint systems and work positioning for all roof work as first priority. These systems involve the use of a full body harness, a lanyard with rope grab that will limit the length of the line as determined by the worker; and safe positioning on the roof that prevents a worker from falling over an exposed edge. In addition, a fall arrest line will be in place along with a rescue plan involving:

- Trauma straps fitted to the harness that enable a suspended worker to place their foot inside the loops and stand, eleviating the pressure from the harness, whilst the ground worker places a ladder beside them for the suspended worker to safely climb down.

- All equipment required for a rescue plan will be available on site before commencement of work and will be in accordance with relevant Australian Standards.

Control measures must be continuously monitored throughout the day to ensure they remain adequate. If an incident or injury occurrs, you must follow incident response procedures first, then control measures MUST be reviewed and amended accordingly to reduce the likelihood of the same or similar injury happening again.

This risk assessment process has been developed in consultation and cooperation with employee/workers and relevant Employer/PCBU. I/we have participated in the above risk assessment and understand its contents. I/we agree to comply with safety requirements within this risk assessment including risk control measures, safe work instructions and Personal Protective Equipment described.
